Sue Ann Winn, a long time resident of La Conner, passed away on July 8th, 2024 in Mt. Vernon, WA at the age of 74. Sue was born in Coupeville, WA, October 8, 1949, to parents “Deb” and Betty Ann Everett. She was raised in Oak Harbor, WA and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1967. She was always very social and loved being with her friends. Sue loved the water growing up and spent summers lifeguarding at the local pool. After graduating, she pursued many adventures in and around Seattle before settling her family in La Conner. Sue found her true passion while growing her family. Raising her two daughters in La Conner, she became a true “mom” to all. Her door was always open and she was happiest when her house was full. She was an amazing cook, an avid sports fan and a tireless volunteer in the school district. She held everyone to a high standard, and even taught a number of local kids to swim. Sue’s “family” expanded when she opened Punkin Patch Childcare. She loved the kids in her daycare like her own. She enjoyed helping parents and kids grow together. Her legacy of giving back to the community and loving everyone around her well will be carried on by those touched by her life. Sue is survived by her two daughters Jen (Tom) Faley of Coronado, CA and Stacy (Ja’wanne) Brown of Lacey, WA, her grandkids Zach (17) & Cooper (15) Faley and Grace (9) Brown; her sister Nancy (Frank) Hunter; nieces Jami (Mike) Lindberg, Bre (Kyle) Speck and their families and her beloved canine companion, Lilly.
