During the 2022 elections, like some of you, I was concerned about questions raised related to Clyde Shaver’s integrity. I was able to meet with him personally and ask directly about the accusations against him, and I was completely satisfied with the transparency of his responses to me, and I was fully relieved of my concern.

I have now observed Clyde’s commitment and ability to fulfill his responsibility to represent us in the state legislature. Having worked in state legislatures for much of my career I know what ultimately defines successful legislative leadership is 1) his or her availability and responsiveness to constituents, and 2) whether he or she is successful in identifying public needs and then, working with bipartisan support, to successfully propose and enact solid legislation that serves the common good.

Clyde has more than fulfilled those challenges with a number of legislative successes. In constituent meetings he speaks and answers questions impressively as someone well informed and competent on a broad range of legislative issues. I am pleased we have such a dedicated and competent person to represent us in Olympia, and I fully support his candidacy.
