Join in the spirit of the holiday season at the Whidbey Playhouse, where the holiday classic community production of “A Christmas Carol” opens on Dec. 12.
The Charles Dickens classic, adapted by Stan Thomas and directed by Alex Montoya and Kevin Wm. Meyer, runs for two weekends in December. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m.
Featuring live musicians and many children and families from our community, “A Christmas Carol” encapsulates the joy and goodwill of the Christmas season on Whidbey Island and invites all to end the year in the spirit of hope.
The holiday production also marks the official opening of the Playhouse bar. The Off-Midway Bar at the Whidbey Playhouse will now offer beer and wine to adults 21 years and older before performances and during intermission. During the run of “A Christmas Carol,” the bar will also serve a special holiday cocktail.
Tickets cost $15 each and are available online at whidbeyplayhouse.com.
On Dec. 18, “A Christmas Carol” cast members will also perform at a special “Dickens Dinner” event at Captain Whidbey Inn in Coupeville. Reservations to the “Dickens Dinner ” can be made at captainwhidbey.com.
