In Loving Memory of Cindy Lee McDougall9/24/1958 – 11/11/2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of CindyMcDougall, who left us too soon at the age of 66.

For almost 40 years, Cindy made her home on Whidbey Island, raising her family and pouring her heart intomaking a difference in the lives of others. She was a devoted mother to her four children and a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren, with whom she cherished every visit.

Her professional journey as a social worker exemplified her commitment to protecting and uplifting the vulnerable. Whether advocating for children in need with her time at Child Protective Services or serving as a Guardian Ad Litem in the courts, she was a steadfast voice of justice and care for families in need. Cindy also worked to create meaningful change through securing state grants, funding programs that supported women and children. She championed causes close to her heart by organizing annual charity runs, fostering a spirit of giving and community on Whidbey Island.

Her passions extended far beyond her professional work. She was a dedicated friend, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She believed deeply in the power of community and spent her life nurturing connections, building bridges, and inspiring kindness. Cindywas a lover of life’s simple joys. She adored the beach, cherished sunsets, and embraced a carefree spirit, often found wearing flip-flops no matter the season. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she celebrated it with unparalleled enthusiasm, creating magical memories for everyone around her.

A cherished resident of Coupeville, Cindy will be missed by her children Leslie, Patrick and Chris, her loving partner Michael Hammett, her dear friends, and the many other lives she touched. She joins herparentsanddaughter Jayme above, but her legacy of love, advocacy, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

A funeral service for Cindy McDougall will be held at 1pm on 1/11/25 at Wallin-Stucky Funeral Home in Oak Harbor, followed by a celebration of life at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge.
