The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation will host a celebration of Harper Lee’s classic “To Kill A Mockingbird” on the 50th birthday of the publishing of the world-renowned novel.

A literary reading of the book will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Greenbank Farm.

Produced by Uncommon Characters, the program will start at 4 p.m. and will consist of readings from selected text from the 1960 classic. There are no tickets for the event, but guests will be encouraged to make a contribution to the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation

“To Kill A Mockingbird” tells a story of the American South before the modern civil rights movement began, as seen through the eyes of a young girl. The novel, winner of the 1961 Pulitzer Prize, has never been out of print in the 50 years since it was published.
