A public hearing regarding the loss of part of First Street to the owners of the Dog House Tavern is scheduled to take place April 7.

The hearing will occur during the Langley City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. A small strip of public property would be given to the tavern’s owners, Charlie and Janice Kleiner, in exchange for some kind of public easement, perhaps a public restroom at Seawall Park or a public patio, according to previous discussions at past council meetings.

The specific piece of property is needed for the Kleiners to make adjustments to the building and fix some structural problems, such as a jog in the floor.

Copies of the resolution will be available at Langley City Hall, 112 Second St.
