To the editor:
My name is Peggy Sullivan. I am the manager of the South Whidbey Community Clinic. Everybody working here at the clinic was heartbroken as one avenue after another to finance the new Whidbey General South healthcare building evaporated. We applaud the hospital’s decision to make improvements to the clinic’s current building, which the hospital owns, to enhance the building’s ability to serve the South Whidbey community for five more years.
What was not in the June 7 South Whidbey Record article is that Whidbey General Hospital Foundation has initiated a fundraising appeal to help fund the more significant improvements the hospital would like to make, which would modernize the current facility. We have dedicated professional staff who serve close to 1,000 patients per month with clinic, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and other medical services.
With the community’s help, our current building can be upgraded to provide the modern healthcare environment they deserve.
Donations may be sent to: WGHF, PO Box 641, Coupeville WA 98239, with a note that it is dedicated to the South Whidbey Community Clinic Improvement Fund.
Peggy Sullivan
North and South Whidbey Community Clinics Manager
