After completing a master of science degree in chemistry at Central Washington University, Max Wallace, a 2007 South Whidbey High school graduate, recently won the Dale and Mary Jo Comstock Distinguished Thesis Award for his thesis “Investigation of Host To – Activator E – H Trapping Efficiency of YBO3:LN, YPO4:LN Using VUV Spectroscopy.”
His thesis will be submitted among CWU’s nominations to the Western Association of Graduate Schools competition this summer.
The 2014-2015 award consisted of a certificate of award, $1000 to the recipient, and travel expenses for the student and the student’s adviser to receive the award at the annual meeting of the Association.
