Ferries holds Mukilteo terminal public hearing

People can speak their piece at a public hearing on the proposed Mukilteo Ferry Terminal from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Mukilteo City Hall.

An open house and presentation on the project will precede the hearing by the Mukilteo hearing examiner at 6 p.m. Washington State Ferries is applying for a shoreline permit from Mukilteo to replace the old terminal.

The new plan moves it less than one mile northeast to the site of a former United States Air Force oil tank farm. Ferries leaders tout the new site’s proximity to the trains and expanded space for bus commuters.
