Three council members who were reelected in November will take the oath of office at the Langley City Council meeting on Monday.

Council members are also expected to continue their discussion on the moratorium.

The council will also select Langley’s mayor pro-tem, the council member who fills in for the mayor when he is away.

Councilman Robert Gilman is currently mayor pro-tem. At the last council meeting, he said he was ready to stay in the position if that was the council’s desire.

There hasn’t been much lobbying for the two-year post, however.

“I’m not interested,” Councilman Russell Sparkman told his colleagues.

Sparkman, Gilman and Rene Neff are scheduled to take the oath of office at Monday’s meeting.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4 at city hall. A workshop will be held at 4 p.m.
