Second Street’s plaza will have a spooky reveal Friday night.

Following the city’s trick-or-treating at businesses from 2:30 to 5 p.m., Langley will unveil two publicly-funded sculptures at the Second Street plaza.

The plaza is the middle of the street between Anthes and Cascade avenues, in front of the South Whidbey Commons and Callahan’s Firehouse. Artists Lloyd Whannell of Clinton and Sue Taves of Langley supplied the works to be on display for a year.

Eventually, the sculptures will be replaced with an annual competition run through the city’s newly created Arts Commission.
