To the editor:
I would like to express my deep gratitude to our incredibly caring and generous community for the recent, successful “Woman in Love” fundraising concert to support my husband Pat’s ongoing rehabilitation from his brain injury and our family.
Thank you to so many who supported this event with their presence, time and donations. The very talented singers, musicians and performers shared their gifts and time and played and sang their hearts out, and Pat’s mother, Shari, donated a lovely painting for the raffle. Local businesses provided support and caring as well, including the Record with a supportive and thoughtful article.
Many people volunteered their time to support this event, and local artist Meredith MacLeod kindly coordinated volunteer help. I appreciate South Whidbey High School for the use of the auditorium venue and the time and energy of all those behind the scenes. I thank everyone involved from the bottom of my heart, and especially Rainey Lewis, who shared her incredible voice and wit on Valentine’s Day, wrote a beautiful and special new song, donated CD sales proceeds and put in countless hours putting on this event with her amazing energy and love, and also the support of her husband, Rob, and son, Jack.
I know that Pat could feel the love and support that night.
Our family has received so much loving support for over 10 months now with constant well-wishes, prayers and help in so many ways. Please know that we are so grateful for everything, and for being a part of such a caring, loving and supportive community.
With immense thanks,
Kris Rodden for our family
