To the editor:

Thanks to our great community who made and bought the delicious cookies at this year’s Cookie Walk, the Langley United Methodist Church Women have sent $2,800 to local charities. We voted to increase our giving this year because of the great need.

Our mission is to help women and children. This year’s recipients are: CADA, Deaconess Children’s Services, the Family Resource Center, Friends of Friends Medical Fund, Good Cheer, Helping Hand, Friends of Home Health, Mary’s Place in Seattle, NAMI Seattle (mental health), Whidbey Island Share a Home (WISH), and the Youth Connection.

We welcome everyone to attend our meetings at Langley United Methodist Church, the third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m., program at 11 and lunch at noon. We learn a lot and have a good time.
