4-H activities continue today at the Island County Fair.
In the horse arena, 4-H stockseat medals are at 3:30 and reinsmanship is at 5 p.m. Drill practice is at 6 p.m.
Preliminaries for the log show get underway at 4:45 p.m. at the logging arena.
The 4-H cat quiz bowl is at 5 p.m. in the cat barn.
The fair officially opens on Thursday.
4-H activities early Thursday include trail/dressage in the horse arena at 8 and alpaca judging in the alpaca barn at 9 a.m.
Dog showmanship starts at 9:30 a.m. and runs all day in the dog arena.
Sheep showmanship is at 10 a.m. in the swine arena.
Cat showmanship is in the cat barn at 10 a.m.
Dairy goat showmanship is in the dairy goat barn at 11 a.m.
Fleece judging will be held in the Malone Building at 11:30 a.m.
The fair opens each day at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m. on Thursday, 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Daily admission is $7 for adults, $5 for military personnel with ID, $5 for seniors 65 and older and for juniors 6 through 15. Children under 5 get in free.
This year, fairgoers can get half off any admission ticket with a donation of two cans of food from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14. Food donations will be used to help the Good Cheer Food Bank.
