LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Transit board should resign

Editor, Regarding Island Transit being back “in the black,” it is nice to know that the directors believe this but how are we to know what “in the black” actually means to them? They borrowed $2 million, they have laid off 20 or so people, they have cut service. We have no information about how these actions are related to being “in the black.”

Editor,

Regarding Island Transit being back “in the black,” it is nice to know that the directors believe this but how are we to know what “in the black” actually means to them? They borrowed $2 million, they have laid off 20 or so people, they have cut service. We have no information about how these actions are related to being “in the black.”

Given their past performance we need more than their assurances, we need facts.

I encourage the remaining directors to resign to restore public confidence.
