policy process

The Langley City Council has approved a plan Wednesday to track work on new policies or changes to existing rules.

It calls for the creation of a review team consisting of three policy coordinators, the mayor pro tem of the council, the city clerk/treasurer and the city planner to track potential changes and progress on new policies.

Items needed for benefit garage sale

Supporters of Clinton Community Hall are looking for donations for a fundraising garage sale that will be held next weekend.

Donations will be accepted at the hall from 1 to 3 p.m. daily from Sunday, April 6 through

Friday, April 11 or by calling

341-1601 or 221-2367. No clothing donations, please.

Sale proceeds will go toward maintenance and improvements to the hall.

The sale will be held from

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday,

April 12 at the hall.

Helping Hand needs assistance

Helping Hand, a non-profit organization in Langley, is looking for the assistance of a handyman or a hauling company.

The organization has discovered an oversized refrigerator-freezer in the building’s basement near the fairgrounds. The appliance hasn’t been opened in decades, and the contents are now rancid and liquified. The nonprofit needs help to cart it away as soon as possible.

Preservation group to meet

The first meeting of Langley’s Historic Preservation Commission will be held Thursday, April 10.

The meeting is from 9 to

11 a.m. at city hall. At the meeting, commission members will get an orientation and establishing a regular meeting schedule.
