To the editor:

Brethren of Langley: May the light of the Comprehensive Plan and its mighty new Code bring you peace and prosperity.

May you find fulfillment with The Plan and come to know its many, many important words. But the words of The Plan can only be known when you turn to the Code. Praise the Code! It gives me peace in a strange new way. Praise the Code bringers! May they help you pit neighbor against neighbor in the righteous fight to create more documents.

Yea, though they created a Plan that lived up not to their own rules, they have chosen it. Yea, though the bounty of our tithing has run dry, pray that we find more to continue The Work. Send unto us more commandments so that we may know the bountiful life.

Hold fast, brethren. It comes to me now — our deliverance is at hand. I stand here before you shaking the lunatic fringe of my frayed raiment and out falls $500. I am told to pledge this tithing to the City I love, the one on the hill bathed in light, so that it may hire a professional writer to edit its documents and make those words less heavy for us mere mortals to bear. Join me so that we may raise a mighty sum. With it, we shall draft a Vision Statement that the new Plan shall not exceed 50 pages. Even though The Plan must allow annexation, hold fast and welcome your neighbors with open arms. The new Code shall not take from you what is rightfully yours. Give all you can in this time of need.
