LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Cost of fuel has me shopping in Oak Harbor

Editor, About seven years ago a “Record” personal editorial complained about the discrepancy of fuel prices between the Freeland area fuel stations and the Oak Harbor area fuel stations. Ironically the Freeland area stations dropped their price to remain in parity with Oak Harbor area stations. Currently, since the entire USA is dropping fuel prices, the price of fuel between Freeland area fuel stations are thirty to thirty-five cents higher per gallon than Oak Harbor area stations.

Editor,

About seven years ago a Record personal editorial complained about the discrepancy of fuel prices between the Freeland area fuel stations and the Oak Harbor area fuel stations.

Several of these stations in Freeland and Oak Harbor are the same brand gasoline.

I take pride in using Freeland businesses and island businesses whenever possible. When I need to go to Oak Harbor, however, I make sure I fill-up with fuel before returning to Freeland.

Why this discrepancy?
