LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Price Johnson ready to lead as Island County commissioner

To the editor:

Island County is a wonderful place to live. I want it to stay this way.

We have an opportunity to elect a very qualified person to serve us as a county commissioner who will work to maintain and improve the quality of life here. This candidate is Helen Price Johnson.

Helen knows Island County from many perspectives, as a graduate of Langley High School, a business owner, a volunteer in school and community organizations, and an elected official. She is a partner, with her husband Dave, in Price/Johnson Construction, which has given her current insight to how small businesses are treated by our local government. She knows that we need to create a positive environment for the development and support of businesses in Island County.

She has the leadership experience to work with all segments of the community.

As a member of the school board, she works with teachers, parents and other members in finding ways to solve the problems facing the district (which are county-wide) that are being created by falling enrollment. These problems have an effect on all facets of life in Island County.

She will bring this experience and passion for consensus to our county government. She not only has the ability to build consensus but also the strength to make the hard decisions when necessary.

Please check out her Web site: www.helenpricejohnson.org.

I know that she is available to meet and discuss any and all issues with the residents of Island County.
