Children from families facing financial challenges have an opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts from the Good Cheer Thrift Stores.
Families that utilize the Good Cheer Food Bank are invited to the “Child’s Chance to Give” Thursday, Dec. 10 at Langley Good Cheer and Friday, Dec. 11 at Good Cheer Two in Clinton. After the stores close to the public, they reopen and each child uses a gift certificate to shop for their family.
In an email news release, Good Cheer described it as “magical to see how much love a child can put into selecting small gifts for the ones they love.”
Volunteers accompany each child while they choose presents and help wrap them. People are needed to help from 5:30 – 8 p.m. To volunteer, contact Julie Smith at 360-341-2880 or volunteer@goodcheer.org.
Good Cheer is also offering some holiday giving specials. Donations of $100 or more receive a set of five Good Cheer holiday cards or a 12-ounce bag of locally roasted Cup of Cheer coffee.
