To the editor:
This letter is to endorse Helen Price Johnson for Island County Commissioner.
Since we have been friends for many years, starting when she was a teenage student in my Sunday school class, up to now, as we teach Sunday school classes together and have been for the past 15 years, I feel I know Helen well enough to highly recommend her as our representative.
I think she would really do a fantastic job as our commissioner. She is a person who is always there for all of the people in her life, putting herself out for them, encouraging and caring for them and never letting them down. She works tirelessly and endlessly to make sure every one of her family and every one of her friends are taken care of. She does this easily, does it well, and does it smilingly and happily, and everyone in her life feels loved and cared for, supported and special.
Since that is the type of person she is, just imagine as our commissioner how hard she will work for us. She will be there for all of us, the people she represents, supporting us and caring for us, doing all she can for us, working tirelessly and endlessly representing us and the things we stand for, and never letting us down.
I’ve seen her working so hard this past year, meeting with many, many people from different areas, backgrounds and interests, just to listen and find out what they are doing and feeling about the things that are important to them. She genuinely cares about the island and its people and wants to be a commissioner who will perform as a true representative of all of us.
Listening, learning, caring, thinking and then giving her all as she strives to accomplish the important tasks to be done — that is what I think Helen will do and be as our Island County Commissioner. I hope you will vote for her.
