South Whidbey State Park officials will conduct two public tours of the campgrounds next week to better explain the facility’s closure to overnight camping earlier this year.

Robert Fimbel of the State Parks Stewardship Program will lead a tour at 1 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. The walking tour takes about 90 minutes, with plenty of time for questions. Those attending the tour will not be required to purchase or have a Discover Pass to park their vehicles at the state park.

Anyone with questions about the walking tour or participating in or learning more about planning efforts for South Whidbey Island State Park may contact Parks Planner Randy Kline at randy.kline@parks.wa.gov or 360-902-8632.
