Girls tennis sent three Falcons to the state 1A tournament.

One Falcon finished second in the singles and the doubles team made it to the second round before a 9-7 pro set elimination.

The Falcons finished as the 1A District 1 champions, placed second in the tri-district tournament and third at state.

South Whidbey elected its team awards at its season-ending banquet this week. Team captains were senior Hayley Newman, and juniors Tess Radisch and Amelia Weeks. Katherine Read, the only ninth-grade student to win a varsity letter, was voted most improved. Weeks also won the Falcon award for the player who best represents South Whidbey.

On the robust junior varsity squad of more than 20 players, Anna Justus and Sophia Pisana shared the hustle award, Clara Martin was most improved and Macey Bishop received the Falcon award.
