The venerable playground in Community Park, the one with the wooden towers and hideaways, will be closed beginning Monday,
Sept. 28 for up to three months to allow workers time for needed upgrades.
“We’re adding new features, retiring older ones and making improvements at Castle Park,” said South Whidbey Parks
& Recreation director Terri Arnold. “New concepts will include a high-stepper, a better glider and new monkey bars.”
Park-goers are invited to check out continuing improvements during Children’s Day, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Community Park.
