Jordan Thompson and Ron Conant have announced their engagement, and have plans for an August 2011 wedding to be held on Whidbey Island.

Jordan is the daughter of Randy Thompson, Langley, and Cheryl Gordon (Tim), of Freeland. She is a graduate of South Whidbey High School and now works for one of the largest global education companies.

The groom-to-be owns his own business focused on stormwater management and low-impact landscaping. His parents, Ronald and Beth Conant, live in Boothbay, Maine.

The couple met while snowboarding in Bend, Ore., and now live in Portland. They share a common love of outdoor activities, traveling to the next wave or mountain, and surrounding themselves with friends and family.
