LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Ongoing diatribe continues

To the editor:

Who is this Jim Dyment guy and what strange hold does he have on the editorial staff of the Record? You seem to feature a long letter from him about every other issue in which we are subjected to an ongoing diatribe on how evil Democrats are versus the virtuous Republicans.

His latest epistle is a rant on voter fraud, and how the Democrats have “stolen” every election since 1960. I guess Dyment’s forgotten the 2000 election, in which Bush was handed the election by brother Jeb, then governor of Florida. Ah, the convenience of selective memory.

In his latest letter, he’s now sounding like the reincarnation of the late, unlamented Sen. Joe McCarthy, who saw a commie lurking behind every tree. I used to think the great fight against fascism was won in 1975, when Spain’s Franco died, but I guess the movement is alive and well on Planet Dyment.

For your information, Gauleiter Dyment, ACORN registers voters; it does not vote for them, nor does it make them vote. If you want to register more Republicans, feel free to go out and do so. It’s still a free country — at least until you get your way and you and your ilk “take your country back.”

Good luck in all this.
