The local improv troupe “Side of Fries” will perform in Langley this week, with proceeds going to the Veterans Resource Center.

The show will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Maurlee’s Take-Out and Catering, 317 Second St. A $5 donation is suggested.

For the past several months, the improv group has provided family oriented original material at various venues to raise money for local charities. This past year, the troupe raised $3,500 for more than half a dozen nonprofit organizations.

The Veterans Resource Center serves local returning veterans, their families and the community in an effort to heal war trauma, said Judith Gorman, director. It offers support groups, educational programs, advocacy and outreach to veterans and their families.

“Side of Fries” meets regularly at Maple Ridge Assisted Living. Leader Michael Barker will hold a workshop soon at Senior Services in Freeland, and at a theater in Everett. Classes are for ages 12 and older, and partial scholarships are available.
