Bones found on the beach near the Clinton Ferry Terminal this past weekend were not human, officials said Monday.
The bones, including a section of vertebrae, were found by a couple walking on the beach and were reported about 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, said Undersheriff Kelly Mauck of the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
Island County Coroner Dr. Robert Bishop said the bones were definitely not human, and probably belonged to a deer.
“The majority of bones found on our beaches turn out to be something other than human,” Mauck said.
