Do you have historical photos of South Whidbey?

The South Whidbey Historical Society, in partnership with Washington Rural Heritage and Sno-Isle Libraries, is working on a project to scan and digitize historic photos of South Whidbey to be included on the Washington Rural Heritage website at www.washingtonruralheritage.com/.

Washington Rural Heritage is a collaborative digitization project coordinated by the Washington State Library bringing together local history resources from heritage organizations and private collections throughout the state.

Becky Bolte, Sno-Isle district manager, said the South Whidbey project coincides with “Preservation Week” April 21-27.

“You can help celebrate by contributing your family’s photographs for digital preservation,” Bolte said.

All photos will be returned after scanning. If you have pre-1940s photos of identified South Whidbey buildings, locations, people or events, submit them to Bob Waterman (360-221-8644) or Bill Haroldson (360-341-6090) for review.
