Applications for Island County Rural County Economic Development Funds will be accepted through Oct. 31.

The county is only accepting applications from Island County, the Town of Coupeville, the City of Oak Harbor, the City of Langley or from the port districts.

The intention of the funds is to promote the creation, attraction, expansion and retention of businesses and provide for family-wage jobs.

The Island County Board of Commissioners will review the applications with the Island County Council of Governments. Applicants will be asked to make an oral presentation to the council, which will make recommendations to the board.
