A Lenten class, ecumenical in character and open to all, is being offered at Langley Methodist Church entitled “Toward Understanding Jesus.”

The class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, or 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursdays in the Fireside Room at the church.

The first week of class will be Feb. 28 and March 1 and go through the first week of April.

Dr. Duncan Ferguson will lead the class, with the support of Laurie Julian. Lent is the season in the Christian calendar where life assessments are made, with much thought given toward personal improvement in the coming year.

The class will be studying Jesus, the center of the Christian faith, as a way of reflecting and setting goals for a deeper and more profound spiritual life. The study will be historical in character as well as a spiritual pilgrimage as the class considers the way that Jesus lived, what he taught and how he completed his mission in life.

All are welcome. Textbooks may be purchased at the church office or the first class session; call the church office at 221-4233 to sign up for the class.
