LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Our library system is the best

To the editor:

After the following occurred several nights ago, I realized that there is a library levy on the ballot and thought I would share my love of our Sno-Isle library system.

I received an e-mail from amazon.com detailing a book they thought I would like (based, of course, on like books I had ordered in the past). This book happened to be on home decorating. As I reviewed the book, amazon.com was happy to show me others in the same category that I might be interested in.

There were several. I knew there was no way I could buy all these books, nor did I really want to own all of them, I just wanted to look through them. I decided to see if any of them were in our library system. THEY ALL WERE. As much as I use the library, I was amazed that it had absolutely every one of the books I was looking at on amazon.com. I placed holds on around 10 books this past Monday night. I received an e-mail today telling me the Freeland library is holding five of my books.

I also download books and videos to my MP3 player for the gym and when traveling from the library’s e-books section.

Doesn’t get any better than this — what a resource we have.

Please vote yes on the library levy.
