Editor,

Helen Price Johnson is, has been, and will be a knowledgeable and professional leader as an Island County commissioner. She listens intently to her constituents and professional advisors. She considers the opinions of all parties. She reaches her conclusions and defends them in an informative and reasonable manner. She treats others with respect. She has a soft, yet powerful voice on issues affecting our communities.

I think Helen sets a standard I wish could influence all levels of politics these days. She asserts her positions without denigrating those who have differing opinions. She respects the people she works with. She is endlessly available to talk with anyone who wants her attention. She thinks for herself and makes her own decisions. She is fearless in her support for the issues she considers important to Island County.

Helen has demonstrated her ability, her dedication, and her accessibility. We know her and we know how lucky we are to have her skills and attitude. As they say, “all politics is local” and Helen’s re-election is in our best interests.
