South Whidbey Eagles Aerie gives $22,000 to Whidbey nonprofits

The Eagles Aerie on South Whidbey Island donated more than $22,000 to nonprofits on the island recently.

The Eagles Aerie on South Whidbey Island donated more than $22,000 to nonprofits on the island recently.

Meals on Wheels, a program run by Senior Services of Island County, received $5,000; the Good Cheer Food Bank, $3,000; Enso House, $2,000; Whidbey Island Nourishes, $1,500; Hearts and Hammers, $1,500; Readiness to Learn Foundation, $1,300; M-Bar-C Ranch, $1,000; and Whidbey Island Dance Theatre, $500.

Money was raised by club members through its plant sale, crab feed, Sea Fest and other donations throughout 2013.
