Whidbey Telecom’s email service is once again down, according to the latest updates on the company’s website.
Beginning at 11:35 a.m., the service provider announced they had to take its system offline for 30 minutes to perform critical maintenance. The update said it would be temporary but that it would result in customers not being able to access their email accounts.
“We know this is an incredibly hard time and we’re so sorry for the major issues we’ve been having,” the update said.
“You will not have access to email during this period, not even slow coming email. We will update you immediately when the system is back online,” the update said.
About one hour later another update was posted that said the system maintenance was successful and that email was flowing through the system. However, it said customers will still not have access to their accounts.
“We will post an update once email access is available. Again, we apologize for the disruption,” the update said.
A third update, posted at 4:40 p.m., stated that email was still down as the company is working on a performance issue that’s been identified with a communication protocol between systems.
“We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, the update said. “We will continue to work through the night until the email system is operational.”
The South Whidbey-based telephone, internet and email provider has been having troubles with it’s email system since it began a system upgrade this past weekend.
