South Whidbey High School and the booster club presented Jim Christensen with a certificate of appreciation during halftime of the boys basketball game against Coupeville on Tuesday, Jan. 25.
Christensen is a familiar sight at Falcon games; he volunteers at virtually every home sporting event as the trainer for the athletes, providing care and assistance when one of the students is injured.
He also trains students who are interested in physical therapy and sports medicine as assistant trainers for South Whidbey’s sports teams, and teaches a college-level course at the high school in sports medicine.
Falcon boosters also praised Christensen for allowing injured students to use his physical rehabilitation services and facilities free of charge.
