Shaping Clinton’s future will be the topic of discussion at a meeting Thursday night with Island County planners.

The county is working on its comprehensive plan update, the guiding document for projects and development that spans 20 years. Defining Clinton’s role in the county’s commerce, specifically for the commercial hub along the Highway 525 and Deer Lake Road area, is the task ahead for anyone interested in shaping and giving voice to Clinton.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5 at Clinton Community Hall.

At issue is the rural area of intense development, the term for the cluster along the highway from the ferry north past Bob Galbreath Road, and how it can be adjusted to better suit future needs.
