Women can learn about firearm safety at Central Whidbey Sportsmen’s Association later this month.
The class begins at 9 a.m. July 27 and lasts about four hours.
Topics cover the skills needed to handle a loaded firearm and how to make it safe. The class also includes some range time at the end to help students use their new skills. Instructors are retired law enforcement officers and have taught this class previously.
Students may bring their own firearm or use guns provided by club members for this training session. It is also suggested they bring lunch or snacks.
The club is located at 397 Safari Lane, across from Morris Road. There is no cost and no registration. Parking is available at the clubhouse.
