To the editor:
I have a question for those of you keeping an eye on the Fire District 3 commissioner race, in regards to Gary Gabelein and the commissioners race.
Since the lawsuits against him and the fire district were settled as “undisclosed amounts,” now that Gary Gabelein is running for public service in the same position as he was when sued before, I would like to know how much he has cost the fire district in lawsuits. Both in attorney’s fees and settlements, never mind insurance, that is a mute point, and will he be insurable, will the insurance price go up?
If he is really wanting to “save” taxpayers dollars and help the fire district, then maybe he would be a bigger help to the fire district in not serving as a commissioner. It caused a lot of stress, strife and hard feelings last time around.
With all the problems being faced now by the fire district, do we really need to add more to the plate?
Remember, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat the past.
