Cathrine (Kaisa) Tauscher and Cate Rilla were married on Aug. 10, 2013. The afternoon ceremony took place in the Mount Holyoke College Chapel in South Hadley, Mass.

Tauscher is the daughter of Cathy Tauscher of Clinton and the late Kenneth Tauscher. She is the granddaughter of Betty Robinson Maddeford of Freeland and Gerald Gearheart of West Newton, Mass.

Rilla is the daughter of Suzanne and Paul Rilla of Amherst, Mass.

Included in the wedding party were the sisters of the brides: Tauscher’s sister, Lisa Bryant of Lake Forest Park, Wash. and Rilla’s sister Megan Hilt of Austin, Texas. Also in the bridal party was Adrienne Lyle, a childhood friend of Tauscher’s on South Whidbey.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Blue Heron Restaurant in the neighboring town of Sutherland.

Tauscher grew up attending South Whidbey schools, while Rilla attended schools in Amherst, Mass. and Stoneleigh Burnham School in Greenfield, Mass.

Both brides are graduates of Mount Holyoke College. In 2008, Tauscher graduated from New England School of Law, Boston. She is now a member of the legal staff of Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance, Calif.

In June of 2013, Rilla completed a three-year master’s degree in landscape architecture at the University of Southern California.

After traveling to Hawaii for their honeymoon, the newly married couple returned to their home in Long Beach, Calif.
