Yin and yang, Venus and Mars, she and he.
Two writers, one house.
She, writing fiction. He, writing a memoir. Both books have things to say about living by the wrong myths and about finding one’s true path.
Join Ann Medlock and John Graham for an afternoon of readings from their books — hers, “The Mermaid’s Tale, a Novel of Love, Fear & Misogyny,” and his, “Sit Down Young Stranger, One Man’s Search for Meaning.”
Listen to local actors read excerpts from each book while Medlock and Graham continue the dialogue of their lives.
“How do people find meaning for their lives? What role models do we follow for our actions and for our ideas of who we are?” asks Medlock.
“John’s memoir and my novel both deal with those questions, though looking at two very different lives. It’s a thought-provoking and, I hope, entertaining dialogue.”
The event takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 at Bayview Community Hall.
Sue Frause and Keith Mack will co-host the event. Admission is free, but audience members will be encouraged to make a donation to the Giraffe Heroes Project.
