To the editor:

The Dorothy Cleveland Trail traverses the eastern slopes of Possession Ridge, an area with great landslide risk.

This trail has little effect on slope stability, whereas development could easily rejuvenate movement of the landslides there.

The area has been mapped by the Washington State Department of Ecology as “unstable.” The port district has not warned potential buyers that developing this land would endanger not only their own home, but also the homes located along the beach. Let the buyer beware!
