A group eager to learn turned out to the Whidbey Institute in Clinton this past weekend to search for mushrooms.
Organized by the Whidbey Camano Land Trust, Ida Gianopulos, conservation assistant with the trust, led the tour of the Clinton woods. An estimated 75 people attended the Walk & Talk with Fungi tour, according to an email from a land trust spokeswoman.
The tours focused on forest ecology and fungi’s role in forests and the environment as a whole.
