Funding status for the Langley marina, a new compliance report on Whidbey Airpark and applications for sponsorship money are on tonight’s agenda for the Port of South Whidbey.
With the closing of title and escrow documents at the Langley marina, the port will turn to looking at funding sources in order to place the breakwater and build a connecting pier.
A report requesting an update on the status of the airfield will be evaluated as to whether it fits the port’s long-term comprehensive plan.
Finally, eight South Whidbey organizations will make their pitches for money to subsidize a trade fair, create off-island advertising, design a beautification project, buy a refrigerator and sponsor portable toilets at Freeland Park, among other requests.
Time permitting, there will also be a solar energy proposal from Port Commissioner Geoff Tapert.
The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Freeland Library.
