South Whidbey grad Russell earns degree

Bronwyn Russell, a 2004 South Whidbey High School graduate, has completed a bachelor of science degree with a major in health science from Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga. Russell minored in religious studies, and graduated summa cum laude.

Bronwyn Russell, a 2004 South Whidbey High School graduate, has completed a bachelor of science degree with a major in health science from Saint Mary’s College of California, Moraga. Russell minored in religious studies, and graduated summa cum laude.

Russell, a member of the college’s softball team who was named Pacific Coast Softball Conference Freshman of the Year in 2005, won All-Conference First Team honors in 2005, 2007 and 2008. She was also the conference “scholar-athlete” of the year in 2007 and has made the athletic director’s honor roll the past two years.

Future plans for the college grad include applications to medical schools with a focus on the study of orthopedic medicine.

Before going back to school, Russell looks forward to some traveling stateside and abroad, to work and to rest a bit.
