LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Price gouging is unacceptable

To the editor:

I know times are tough. Food and fuel costs are at an all-time high. In these times, it is important to spend your money with businesses that will not take advantage of the current situation.

Today my family and I went for a rare breakfast at a local restaurant. I was shocked when I learned they were charging $3.95 for less than eight ounces of orange juice. That’s nearly $64 per gallon! And you thought gasoline was expensive.

On top of that, the service was slow, there was a hair in at least one meal, and the hash browns were burned.

I will NEVER set foot in that establishment again and I implore all other South End residents from patronizing establishments that will price gouge. They do not deserve to survive if they believe price-gouging is their way to get ahead in these times.
