South Whidbey Parks and Recreation will hold a public hearing on its proposed $1.03 million operating budget for 2016 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 followed by a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. The budget includes the purchase of a new campground, two mowers, and a 5 percent pay hike for administrators.
The 30-acre campground received its review appraisal from Kent Scudder of Norquest Asset Valuation, which valued the property at $400,000. The district is buying the property for $390,000.
Director Doug Coutts said the purchase will be finalized Oct. 30.
