UUCWI explores equinox and the present moment
Nature’s seasonal cycles of birth, death and rebirth invite us to participate in the vibrant, interdependent web of life.
At this time of equinox and balance of light and dark, join the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island in reflecting on how we may experience the fullness of life in the timeless and present moment.
All are welcome. Values-based children’s religious exploration classes and childcare will be provided.
The service is at 10 a.m. at 20103 Highway 525, just north of Freeland. Check www.whidbey.com/uucwi for more information.
Christian Science Society presents healing service
Do you sometimes feel trapped in your body, enduring discomfort or pain? The solution lies within the recognition that in Spirit, or Mind, you can’t be enslaved by anything material. “Rise in the conscious strength of the spirit of Truth to overthrow the plea of mortal mind, alias matter, arrayed against the supremacy of Spirit,” (“Science and Health”).
How and why you have the right and the ability to be free of matter (bodily restrictions) will be the topic of the Christian Science service on Sunday.
This healing service begins at 10:30 a.m. at 15910 Highway 525, just north of Bayview and across from Useless Bay Road.
“When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness,” (“Science and Health”).
‘I Can See Clearly Now’ is the Unity message
Jim Freeman will speak about “I Can See Clearly Now” at the Unity of Whidbey service on Sunday.
In this day and time of sensory overload regarding what we are doing in our lives, whether it is through Facebook, Twitter, reality TV, the evening news or sharing our woes in our local coffee retreats, we seem to be primarily concerned with our doing, not our being. Join Freeman, musician Talia Toni Marcus and platform assistant Chris Nelson for a reminder of who and what and why we really are.
A Course in Miracles group meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All are welcome. Visit Unity of Whidbey’s website at http://www.unityofwhidbeyisland.org for more information.
