Change orders on the Second Street project totaling $58,513 will be presented to the Langley City Council at its regular meeting Monday.
The items, ranging from pipe repair to geotextile for soil stabilization, were all unforeseen costs at the start of the major overhaul of Second Street that began in January. Creating an entrance to Third Street from the post office parking lot added $23,000 to the project.
In the change order memorandum, Director of Community Planning Jeff Arango said the city will save about $50,000 because a cold mix asphalt was not needed. He also did not anticipate “substantive” work orders.
