Former standout Falcon athlete Lindsey Newman continued adding accolades with a scholar-athlete honor from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Freeland native was one of seven tennis players at Seattle University to be honored as a scholar-athlete for the 2012-13 academic year.
Newman, who graduated from South Whidbey High School in 2009, was a scholarship tennis player at Seattle U. As an honored scholar-athlete, Newman had to have at least a 3.5 grade point average. She graduated earlier in spring.
The women’s team qualified for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s all-academic list with a minimum of a 3.2 team GPA.
